The newly founded theater collective "Theatre of Knowledge" brings together international artists, scientists and activists who are jointly dedicated to the question of how socially relevant topics can be integrated into theatrical practice in an innovative and interdisciplinary way. Under the direction of experienced theater director Krzysztof Minkowski, who has been working in the independent scene and at renowned municipal theaters in Germany, Poland, Denmark and Switzerland for over 20 years, the collective explores the interfaces between art, science and social discourse. The central concern of Theater des Wissens is to convey complex, often abstract social and scientific topics in a way that is not only intellectually challenging but also emotionally tangible. The collective attaches particular importance to actively involving the audience in the creative process and seeing them as co-thinkers and co-creators instead of restricting them to the role of passive observers. A particular focus of the collective is the collaboration with scientists and experts from different disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach creates a theater ensemble that incorporates current research findings and scientific perspectives directly into the artistic process. The collective has set itself the goal of making a contribution to central social discussions with its projects. The focus is on topics such as the climate crisis, migration, political and technological change and social justice. The Theater des Wissens sees itself as an artistic and social platform that not only poses questions, but also inspires action. Through its productions, the collective aims to create awareness and provide impetus for a future-proof and sustainable society.
