The theater collective “Theater des Wissens” brings together international artists, scholars, and activists who are dedicated to exploring how socially relevant topics can be integrated into theatrical practice in innovative and interdisciplinary ways. Under the direction of experienced theater director Krzysztof Minkowski, who has been working for over 20 years in the independent theater scene and at renowned municipal theaters in Germany, Poland, Denmark, and Switzerland, the collective explores the intersections of art, science, and social discourse. The central aim of Theater des Wissens is to convey complex, often abstract social and scientific topics in a way that is not only intellectually challenging but also emotionally engaging. In doing so, the collective places particular emphasis on actively involving the audience in the creative process and viewing them as co-thinkers and co-creators, rather than limiting them to the role of passive observers. A particular focus of the collective is on collaboration with scientists and experts from various disciplines. Through this interdisciplinary approach, a theater ensemble is created that directly integrates current research findings and scientific perspectives into the artistic process. The collective has set itself the goal of contributing to key societal discussions through its projects. Topics such as the climate crisis, migration, political and technological changes, and social justice are central to this focus. Theater des Wissens sees itself as an artistic and social platform that not only raises questions but also inspires action. Through its productions, the collective aims to raise awareness and provide impetus for a sustainable and future-oriented society.
